Databricks Interview Prep
Databricks as a company has a 62B dollar valuation and not just that, it recently raised 10B dollars at that valuation. It is also one of the fewcompanies that is hiring aggresively in various roles like Product Manager, Solutions Architect, Software Engineering and so on. But its interviews are pretty hard to crack and rigorous. Sharing some tips and tricks as well as materials which will be helpful to you.
Apply with a referral only
Applying with a referral significantly increases your chances of getting an interview callback at Databricks. And here’s the thing, you don’t even have to fill out the application. Just send resume and job id to the person who can refer and they will apply. Once they do, as long as your resume is ATS friendly and decent, you will get a callback.
PySpark and Scala
Databricks heavily uses PySpark and Scala and will also have an assignment on the same. So, these assignments require you to complete 2-3 tasks. These tasks require you to clean, wrangle and transform data to get the correct answers. You have three domains like Machine Learning, Data Science and Data Engineering to choose from and accordingly 1 assignment to complete from those. Questions asked are similar to this :

There could also be a SQL assignment via CodeSignal. These are about 4 questions which are actually really tough and are take home. All SQL questions, questions have some business scenarios & you need to write the SQL using aggregation, group by & window function etc.
